Andreas J. Köstenberger Recommends...

Andreas J. Köstenberger is Professor of New Testament & Director of Ph.D Studies at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (North Carolina). (SEBTS Faculty Profile)

One of the most frequently asked questions I receive is, “What are the commentaries you recommend for serious study of the New Testament?” At long last, I have compiled my list. Subject to further editing, it will appear in a forthcoming hermeneutics text, Invitation to Biblical Interpretation, due out in the Invitation to Theological Interpretation Series in a couple years.

In the meantime, here is the list: [click here to view the rest of his article]

Köstenberger provided this list back on 3/23/07. He then followed this up with a list of Helpful Reference Tools for Biblical Studies. Both of these are great lists and will prove helpful to those who are students, pastors, and laymen. I am in the process of adding these recommendations to the TheoSource database. I'll let you know when it has been updated.
