Wheaton, IL— John Piper’s Don’t Waste Your Life (Crossway Books, 2003) was awarded the Gold Book Award by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) at the 2007 ECPA Management Conference on Sunday, April 29th. More than 500,000 copies of this title, now available in several editions and formats, have been sold.
John Piper is pastor for preaching and vision at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis. He has published more than 25 titles with Crossway, including When I Don’t Desire God, Fifty Reasons Why Jesus Came to Die, and God is the Gospel. He and his wife Noël have four sons, one daughter, and seven grandchildren. Learn more about John Piper and his ministry at www.desiringgod.org.
Don’t Waste Your Life is Piper’s plea to a generation to make their lives count for eternity, and the new sales figures evidence the fact that his plea is being heard. Crossway has recently released a study guide edition and group study kit for Don’t Waste Your Life in partnership with Desiring God. These materials are designed for use in a ten-session, guided group study that maximizes Piper’s message by infusing it with the accountability of a group setting.
The ECPA Gold Book Awards, established in 1990, recognize outstanding sales achievements in quality Christian literature. “It is always exciting to see a book achieve such a significant sales milestone,” says Mark Kuyper, President of ECPA. “ECPA members publish books that change lives. We celebrate with these publishers when a title is embraced by the reading public, resulting in outstanding sales.”
