We have noted on the TheoSource Calendar that today marks the "traditional" date of C. H. Spurgeon's conversion. The account of this event is a favorite and one I have heard used as an illustration more times than I can count. Fred Sanders provides a great article about Spurgeon's conversion, a bit of "useful" controversy regarding the precise date of the event, and Spurgeon's own recounting of this life-changing event. Give it a read!
Many thanks to Fred Sanders for posting this article. (I wish we could contract him to contribute to our Today in Church History Series. ;) He's been doing a great job over the past few days: Zwingli, Thérèse of Lisieux, E. Stanley Jones, James Ussher, Robert Morrison.)
