We would fain go to our chambers and weep: but since our business calls us away, we will first pray our Beloved to print the image of his bleeding self upon the tablets of our hearts all the day, and at nightfall we will return to commune with him, and sorrow that our sin should have cost him so dear.
What do we do when we have little time to meditate on the goodness of our Lord to us? We do the things He has appointed for us to do, trusting Him to be with us during the day and intending to devote ourselves especially to Him when He permits.
If you feel let down at certain seasons because you're too busy to spend the time you want in worship or to take part in special traditions, take courage! The Lord, who appoints our daily business, knows our heart. He knows it if we desire to spend time with Him. Here our worship is encumbered with the distractions of life and the corruption remaining in our heart. In Heaven we will see Him as He is and love Him with unsinning and undistracted heart!
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. (Revelation 1:5-6).
Another evidence of God's grace to us. And, that is one of my favorite texts! Thanks for sharing this!
