, Ecclesiastes, and most recently, the Epistle of James.A few weeks ago I added a feature to the sidebar of this website where I have been keeping up with the books I am currently reading. Some are for sermon prep, others are for various Bible studies I am involved with, and the rest are miscellaneous books I am trying to squeeze in as I find time. Since I have now removed the list of books I was using for our study in the Letter of James, I'd like to list them here.
Of the many great commentaries and studies on the Epistle of James, these are the few I chose to read and reference along the way. For this study I specifically purchased The Letter of James
by Douglas Moo and James
by George M. Stulac. The reason for selecting these two was that I was specifically looking for a good commentary that I could recommend to those who participated in the study and especially to the other teachers. A heavy work was unnecessary, but I wanted to find one that had a good balance of sound exegesis and a pastoral appeal. The one I recommended to the group was George Stulac's commentary. We found it to be excellent for use in our small group and you can even access the notes for free here.Here is a list of all the commentaries I used and recommend.
