I used Anthony Selvaggio's A Proverbs Driven Life to teach a Sunday School class in Clayton, AL and it proved to be very useful. Selvaggio does a fine job of hitting the high points, tying in the New Testament and keeping the content manageable. As much as I appreciate this book, I am left with the wish that there was more interaction within the book of Proverbs. Key texts are discussed but there is nothing close to a biblical theology of each topic within the book. Slimming down the chapters in order to create a couple more for each topic would have been helpful, as would a study guide with questions. All in all, using this book has provided a platform for some excellent discussions.
We use Derek Thomas's Let's Study Revelation for our Sunday School class at Trinity. Thomas does a good job at keeping the study to the larger, gospel-picture rather than muddling in the details. This study and the discussion was the best we've ever had in the book of Revelation.
