| Godly Man's Picture
By Thomas Watson / Banner Of Truth (PB, 256 pages)
The Godly Man's Picture, "written by a preacher in the Puritan era, shows how attractive the grace of God is. Christians of all stages will feel as if they have entered the gallery of a great portrait painter."
I have personally benefited from reading and re-reading this tiny volume. Watson's language is vivid and full of Scripture. He is one of the easiest to read of the Puritan writers. -JB -------------------------------- |

A Favorite Devotional Work
Ah, Jason. I am so glad that you got your hands on this book; my goal is to get this into the hands of any and every other young (or old) guy that our warehouse can ship to! I've always thought this would be a great book for a small guys group to read together, too. Anyway, thanks for sharing it with others here. God bless, brother. If there's anything that we at Banner can do to help you out, let us know.
ReplyDeleteSteve,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments! I have often desired to use this book for a small group study. I still want to, but have not yet had the opportunity. I have, however, bought copies to give to people in the past.
Watson is so simple, straightforward and, above all, Scriptural. Many people think very negatively about the Puritans, but Watson is a shining example of the many treasures to be found in the writings of the Puritans.
I'm glad to make your acquaintance.
